About Dr. Mark Edgcomb, DO

Mark Edgcomb, D.O. is a board certified General Surgeon with Houston Colon. Dr. Edgcomb received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marquette University. He then went on to Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences where he earned his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Edgcomb completed his internship in General Surgery at Rush University Medical Center followed by a General Surgery residency at Centura Health St. Anthony Hospital. Dr. Edgcomb completed his medical training with a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery-Advanced Colorectal from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston.

Dr. Edgcomb is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is an active member of several professional memberships such as American College of Surgeons, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, The Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Dr. Edgcomb has participated in several research, lectures, and presentations throughout his career.

Dr. Edgcomb knows that Colon and Rectal care takes a collaborative and holistic approach. He strives to personalize his care to each of his unique patients utilizing the latest technology and minimally invasive techniques for optimal outcomes. When not treating patients, Dr. Edgcomb enjoys fishing, golfing, and most importantly spending time with his family.
